Describe What Still Responds
When Ledger Live is not responding, first establish whether the entire client is unresponsive or one operation is waiting. Ledger Wallet is the current product name. Try only a harmless navigation action if possible, such as opening settings, and note which controls still work.
That distinction changes the repair. A responsive program waiting for blockchain history, a hardware confirmation, or provider processing does not necessarily need the same action as an operating system reporting an unresponsive process.
Read the Work Already in Progress
Look at the physical Ledger before ending a host task. It may request a PIN, an expected permission, or a coin app. Respond only to the documented workflow you initiated. An unrelated signature should not be approved simply to clear an apparent wait.
If device OS installation is progressing, keep the necessary connection and power. A host responsiveness label does not determine whether interrupting firmware is appropriate. An actual failed device state requires the correct model-specific instructions rather than a generic force-quit experiment.
Classify a Partially Working Interface
One Account Is Waiting
Compare another already added account and read the relevant service component on Ledger’s incident page. Record whether this is a large new history scan or an unchanged error. A chart and asset quantity can have different data sources and should not be treated as identical symptoms.
A Provider Is Waiting
Keep the provider’s identity and any existing order reference. Waiting for an offer differs from waiting for a funded transaction to complete. Determine the first attempt’s state before creating another request involving money.
Device Management Is Waiting
Check the local connection, current device screen, and competing wallet clients. Viewing cached balances cannot demonstrate that My Ledger has an active management session with the signer.
Handle a Fully Unresponsive Client
Save the visible error and context. Once you have established that no progressing hardware operation needs preservation, use the operating system’s supported close or force-quit controls and reopen a single intended installation.
Check compatibility, available storage, and recent changes. Use the supported package from Ledger’s verified download route when application-file replacement is justified. Avoid unofficial performance patches, random libraries, or privileged launch as universal remedies.
Preserve Information Before Wider Repairs
A program reinstall and local-data reset have different effects. Before a documented profile rebuild, keep necessary non-secret accounting records and confirm the initialized device is available for account rediscovery. Local preferences and service history may need separate reconstruction.
Do not erase the hardware to make a desktop window respond. If another connection or a service recovery restores one feature, use that evidence to narrow the problem instead of repeatedly deleting every local setting.
Responsiveness FAQ
Could a payment complete while the interface is frozen?
The receiving system may have processed it independently. Inspect the transaction hash or provider order before sending again, particularly if hardware approval occurred before the freeze.
Should I change several settings to save time?
A controlled single change produces evidence. Simultaneous cable replacement, profile reset, and network changes make it harder to know what caused a different result.
What information is useful to support?
State which screens respond, the active task, versions, platform, exact message, and reproducible trigger. Remove unnecessary financial information from diagnostics and never attach recovery words or private credentials.
