Use a Controlled Test Instead of a Test Transfer
A white screen in Ledger Live on Windows can concern the whole application or only one content panel. The current app is Ledger Wallet. Two careful read-only runs can reveal more than repeated installation attempts while avoiding unnecessary financial actions.
For the first run, record the installed release, launch location, Windows configuration and last usable screen. Note whether the window and menus respond. A process that remains with an empty window is different from a process that exits completely.
First Run: Describe the Unchanged Environment
Open the intended installed application once. Do not launch setup by mistake or create several overlapping instances. If another window or dialog exists, inspect it through normal Windows controls and preserve its message.
Observe whether the white area appears at startup, after the local lock or when selecting a feature. Do not approve a new transaction merely to see whether the interface will react. The timing of a harmless navigation action is enough for this comparison.
Second Run: Change Only a Relevant Condition
When no firmware or signing task is active, close the idle app and make one appropriate comparison. That could be reopening after a normal restart, returning to the usual display arrangement or using a trusted alternative network for a specific remote panel.
Explain the reason for that choice. If only a provider area was empty while accounts worked, check Ledger’s incident scope and the provider’s notices. Changing display settings for an unavailable remote offer would not answer the service question.
Check the Program Baseline Before Deleting Data
Review the supported Windows release and its system requirements. If program replacement is justified, complete the official installation and verify the copy actually opened. A new installer in Downloads is not evidence that an old shortcut now targets it.
If a named crash or runtime message appears, consult Ledger’s desktop failure guidance for an applicable repair. Do not use an unknown graphics patch, standalone DLL or security-disabling launch flag as a generic cure.
Preserve the Result and Any Uncertain Operation
Compare which controls now work and which remain white. A consistent narrow trigger is useful for support. Record the display arrangement, feature name and connection result rather than describing the entire product as universally unavailable.
If the screen failed after transaction approval, inspect its hash or provider record before another attempt. A missing completion panel cannot establish that nothing happened. Before any documented profile reset, preserve useful records privately and confirm the matching initialized hardware remains available.
Two-Run Questions
Is clearing cache possible from a completely blank interface?
The normal in-app command needs reachable settings. Follow startup guidance if the controls never appear, rather than deleting guessed profile directories.
Should I reset the Ledger during the second run?
No. Hardware initialization does not diagnose local rendering. Keep its configuration intact and do not enter recovery words into Windows to repair the window.
What counts as a useful improvement?
The same recorded read-only action now displays correctly under an identified changed condition. That result narrows the issue; it does not automatically prove every account or device workflow is repaired.
