Test Responsiveness Without Moving Funds
A white screen in Ledger Live on Mac should be investigated through harmless interface actions. Ledger Wallet is the current app branding. You do not need a test payment to establish whether a window responds, an account loads or a service panel is the only area missing.
Keep a short record before restarting: the last screen visible, the action taken and which controls still work. That record remains useful if the next launch changes the appearance or removes an error message.
Use Three Observations Instead of One Label
- Window behavior: does resizing or moving the window work through normal Mac controls?
- Application navigation: can you reach a menu, settings or another existing account?
- Timing: did the white area appear at launch, after unlocking the app or after opening a specific feature?
These observations do not diagnose a cause by themselves. They help distinguish a complete rendering failure from a narrower panel waiting for information. Avoid reporting every case as an application that never opened.
Example: Only One Provider Page Is Blank
Suppose the portfolio and settings respond but an exchange-service panel stays white. Record the provider and whether an order was already created. Check the relevant notice at Ledger’s service status and the provider’s official information where available.
A trusted network comparison may clarify whether that panel is filtered. Reinstalling the whole app or removing its account list would not directly answer a provider availability question. If funds were already approved, check their chain and order state before submitting another request.
Example: the Entire Window Is Empty
When no controls work, follow normal Mac app-response steps, including one clean reopen or restart as appropriate. Apple’s application troubleshooting guidance provides a baseline. First establish that the process is not actively managing a device firmware installation.
Check the installed copy and current compatibility. A repair package should come from the Ledger application source. Complete installation and open that copy, rather than repeatedly testing an old shortcut or a mounted image.
Escalate with a Result You Can Reproduce
If the symptom persists, give support the three observations, Mac system details and app release. Include display changes if the issue followed attaching an external screen. A controlled return to the usual display arrangement is a comparison, not a guaranteed cure.
A local-data repair needs separate preparation because it may remove account organization. Preserve useful public records privately and keep the initialized signing device available. A white window never calls for recovery words pasted into a Mac repair utility or a support form.
White-Screen Questions
Should I use an undocumented rendering flag?
Do not make a command copied from another product the default wallet launch method. Use current product-specific guidance when a technical workaround is actually justified.
Can cache clearing help if no controls appear?
The ordinary in-app command cannot be reached in that condition. Diagnose startup first instead of deleting guessed folders to imitate a cache action.
What is a meaningful successful result?
The same previously failing read-only action now works in the intended installed version. Record that outcome before assuming unrelated device or network operations have also been repaired.
